Oncology
Adult Patients
Kamuzu Central hospital - National Cancer center started its services in April 2020.The main aim is to offer comprehensive cancer treatment; mainly radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other targeted therapies.
Children & teen Patients
Currently the Ministry of health – Malawi is working in coordination with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) through Atomic Energy Regulation Authority (AERA) to make sure that patients with cancer within and outside Malawi should start benefiting from radiotherapy treatment by year 2023.
Research
As a center of excellence for cancer care, our main focus is on multidisciplinary treatment, in order to optimize patient care and avoid unnecessary treatment delays. The other important area is on planning conferences with a focus on continuing of medical education, training and research.
Healthcare providers
The center also does its stand-alone research in many focus areas. It also partners with other facilities for collaborative research with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHES), Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural resources (LUANAR) – Nutrition Department, and UNC Malawi project as some of partners in research
